In a very real way, we are all losers when it comes to the 2020 presidential election.

Presidential Election Odds US 2024 Election Betting There are currently no lines available for this sport. Either there are no odds open to bet on, or the sport is not in season at this time. You can check back soon or bet on any of the online sportsbook lines and betting odds listed below. Election betting is often referred to as “futures” because it is a wager on a specific, future event. Most election wagers are moneyline bets or straight bets. It’s a straight forward wager normally with no spread involved. For a sporting event, you are bidding on which team will win.

Neither candidate is without their flaws, nobody ever gets exactly what they want no matter who wins, and this entire race has been filled with nastiness.

The presidential debates to this point have been fairly juvenile. The harsh ad campaigns and no holds barred approaches on social media are next-level crazy.

I can’t imagine a world where this presidential election ends without something ridiculous happening. I mean, it just wouldn’t be 2020 without it at this point.

If it’s going to drag us all down and/or take over our lives, we might as well profit from it. The best way to do that is to bet on the thing.

Should you be game for the plunge, here are the best ways to make money from betting on the 2020 presidential election.

One of the quickest and easiest ways to make money from presidential election betting is to take advantage of bonuses and promotions.

Most of the reputable online betting websites tend to offer nice welcome bonuses, and have numerous ongoing promotions. You’ll see this more and more as you bet at these sites, but there’s nothing like trying a site for the first time or being a betting newbie.

That’s where the free stuff comes pouring in.

As it’s happening, you’re just being flooded with free cash and you don’t even know what to do with yourself. Well, not really, but you do get to use these online betting bonuses for bets and you can build a bankroll without investing your own money.

Here’s a quick look at the best sites for betting on the 2020 presidential election, each of which offers a generous bonus to new customers.

Some sites will even have special election-themed bonuses and promotions, and you can also look around to see what the best presidential election betting apps have to offer.

Whatever the case, trying new online gambling sites sure has its perks. If you go to the right ones and use the right bonuses, you could end up placing a lot of bets effectively for free.

Whether you take advantage of online bonuses and promotions or not, you can still bet on the election.

And literally the easiest way to make money betting on the presidential election is to correctly predict who will win the race.

As in, you bet on Donald Trump or Joe Biden to be named the President of the United States.

The odds and expert analysts, so far, suggest this is Biden’s race to lose.

There is a lot of wild speculation about the voting process, voting fraud, and whether or not Trump would actually willingly step down if he loses. But that’s for figuring out after the dust settles.

You, the bettor, “just” need to get the final result right.

Bovada and other presidential election betting websites presently favor Joe Biden. Check out the latest odds.

  • Joe Biden (-180)
  • Donald Trump (+140)
  • Kamala Harris (+7500)
  • Mike Pence (+7500)

I really want to point out the value with Trump here, while it’s always possible one of the leading candidates “wins” but can’t proceed, and gives way to their prospective Vice President.

There’s also the whole “what about Kanye West” angle, but I am assuming most of us agree we should never get to that point.

Election betting odds 2016

The actual odds for who will be the next US President aren’t necessarily relevant to your choice, of course. All that matters is you are able to bet on the winner of the election, and it’s up to you to decide who that will be, or where you bet.

Where to Bet on the 2020 US Presidential Election

Can you bet on the presidential election? Yes! 2020 presidential odds are widely available at a number of leading online sportsbooks, including the top US political betting sites I recommend to you right here. The Biden-Trump race is on, and it’s not...

Betting on who will win the presidential election is fun and potentially profitable. It’s just one bet that is virtually 50/50, however, and at the end of the night, it’s over.

To me, it’s like placing a wager on who will win the Super Bowl. Even if you feel great about it – and even if it wins you money – you don’t really get the thrill of winning until the game finishes.

One way you can get the highs and lows of gambling the US presidential election throughout the entire process? Bet on Electoral College props.

Biden is presently projected to win most of them, but bettors have to ask themselves which ones?

There are a litany of presidential election prop bets to consider (more on that in a bit), but this is a very specific betting niche that covers all 50 American states.

You can wager on which party will win based on Electoral College “points” assigned to each state. Tying into this, of course, are the amount of states either candidate will win.

The point here is you’re not just betting on who wins. You’re gambling on the path to that win, and how it lays out.

With insane value littered across the nation (+950 for Democrats to take Alabama, etc), this is definitely one of the best ways to make money from betting on the 2020 presidential election.

Play Presidential Election DFS

No, don’t laugh. This does exist. Okay, fine, you can laugh. It is absurd, after all.

But hey, it’s free at most daily fantasy sports sites. You can “bet” on what happens at the presidential Election, and you don’t have to actually gamble real money at all.

Some of the top DFS sites are getting in on the fun with their special election DFS contests.

They’re basically prop bet contests, of course, which just has you leaning back to the appealing, fun, and upside of betting on presidential election props.

In this case, of course, you risk zero money, and can still potentially win money from the 2020 presidential election.

Betting on who will be the next President of the United States is really just the tip of the iceberg.

Playing presidential election DFS is fun, but the real upside is with trying to make money from gambling on the presidential election with real cash.

Bovada and other political betting websites offer you an insane amount of wagering options if you’re trying to win money from the 2020 presidential election.

This is serious business, to be sure. We’re trying to elect the leader of a nation, after all. But it also is a lot of fun, and if you play your cards right, you might exit the big night with a boatload of cash.

Here’s a taste of the many presidential election prop bets that exist online.

  • Which party will win
  • Popular vote winner
  • Candidate-specific props
  • Social media prop bets

You can bet on the party that wins, who wins the popular vote, props dealing with Biden and Trump, and/or how they operate on social media during the presidential election.

To be frank, it really doesn’t stop there. The possibilities for presidential election props are honestly endless, and it’s up to the top political betting sites to decide what they put online.

I’m pulling a lot of these options from Bovada, but every site is different. Some sites will offer election props that are a little more outside the box, and others will just later pricing to appeal to bettors a bit more.

Ideally, you’re getting a nice combination of great US presidential election prop bets, good value, and killer bonuses.

Ready to Win Money on the 2020 Presidential Election?

The whole point of this post is to show you that there are a lot of ways to make money from betting on the 2020 presidential election.

Going back, the easiest way remains simply correctly predicting the winner. Even Biden comes in with pretty palatable betting odds, so no matter who you like, you’re getting some money back.

The bigger the wager, of course, the better the payout.

You can keep it going with a litany of 2020 presidential election props, DFS, and whatever other attractive wagers the top political betting websites want to showcase.

Just make sure you maximize your betting value by picking the safest sites that offer a nice combination of versatility, value, and upside.

The political news cycle in the United States doesn’t sleep these days. It seems as though Donald Trump’s presidency has put a new spotlight on the way political news is covered in the US. With a seemingly endless deluge of new scandals and other stories coming out every single day, following the American political scene can be a whirlwind these days.

There are a lot of moving parts involved with American politics, which can make betting on political outcomes incredibly difficult. Look no further than 2016, when Hillary Clinton was a massive betting favorite to become the first woman to be elected to the highest individual post in the country. Clinton’s long political career seemed to be leading to that one crowning achievement, and it didn’t hurt that many didn’t take her opponent, Donald Trump, very seriously.

Of course, we know how that played out.

Trump wound up staging one of the biggest political upsets we have ever seen, which turned online sportsbooks upside-down. Ladbrokes, a UK sportsbook, listed Trump at 200-to-1 to win the 2016 election in June of 2015. Nearly $245 million was bet on the US presidential election in the UK that year, and this year’s election is estimated to be the biggest political betting event in history.

So, what should you know before you place your first bet on American politics? Here are five tips to help you become a better political bettor ahead of the 2020 elections.

Election Betting Odds Stossel

1. Shop for Election Betting Lines

This advice applies to any form of betting. Shopping for lines is a very useful skill for bettors of all kinds. Because there are so many online betting sites nowadays, you should have no trouble finding discrepancies in betting odds from site-to-site.

As a result, one site may offer you far better value on a certain outcome than another site.

Political betting is no exception. For example, BetOnline currently has Joe Biden as a -200 favorite to beat Trump in the presidential race, with Trump listed at +175. MyBookie, on the other hand, has Biden at -170 with Trump at +130.

That may not sound like a huge difference, but it is. Placing a bet on Biden to win offers a bit more upside at MyBookie, while you’re getting better bang for your buck on Trump at BetOnline. This is why it makes sense to shop around at a number of different politics betting sites before settling on the bet you want to place.

2. Keep An Eye on Polls

While some may scoff at the importance of political polling, the polls do give us some legitimately good insight as to how things may play out in the upcoming election. While many will cite Trump’s 2016 upset as a sign that polls are meaningless, it’s worth remembering that polling actually did suggest the race would be a close one that year.

Political betting sites didn’t take note, however, which is why Clinton was such a massive favorite. Oddsmakers bought into the public perception that Trump couldn’t actually win the election, and he made them pay dearly.

Gambling On Presidential Election

Clinton and Trump were neck-and-neck in a number of key battleground states in pre-election polls, including Wisconsin, Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Trump bucked the trends and won literally every single swing state he had to win, but the polls told us that was within the realm of possibility.

2020 election polls currently favor Biden in most swing states, but many of these polls are incredibly close with Trump within the margin of error. Polls can’t account for every voter, but keeping tabs on the numbers can help you identify where the value is in the betting odds.

3. Take Advantage of Election Prop Bets

A straight bet on the White House winner may be the most common way to bet on the 2020 election, but it’s far from the only way. Political betting sites have really stepped up their offerings ahead of one of the most highly-anticipated elections in American history.

In addition to the standard bet on Trump or Biden to win, there are countless other props at your disposal. Some sites, including MyBookie and Bovada, have specific props on which candidate will win a certain state’s electoral vote. You may also bet on which candidate will win the popular vote, and whether the candidate that loses the popular vote will still wind up winning thanks to the Electoral College.

Oddsmakers focus lots of attention on setting straight election odds properly, but the odds for prop bets may not be quite as sharp. As a result, there is typically plenty of betting value to be found if you do a little bit of digging with some of these props. Some sites may also be a bit slow to update their odds in reaction to news that may affect the election’s outlook one way or another.

If you want to bet on American politics this year, don’t focus all of your attention on the election winner. There are countless other ways to get action on the race.

4. Learn History on the United States Presidential Election

History can be very useful when it comes to predicting the outcome of an election. There are always political trends we can use to our advantage when analyzing how things may shake out.

With state-specific prop bets, knowing the electoral histories of those states is crucial. You may see the value on Trump to win California’s 55 electoral votes at an eye-popping +700 value and jump all over it. Of course, it’s worth knowing that Republicans have almost no recent track record of success in the Golden State. In 2016, Trump lost California to Clinton by 30 percentage points.

New York, California, Illinois. People are FLEEING, Taxes and Crime are going through the roof. VOTE TRUMP, I will turn it around, and FAST!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) October 26, 2020

The same can be said of Democratic candidates in historically red states. Biden at +1000 to win Arkansas looks appealing, but a Democratic presidential candidate hasn’t taken Arkansas since noted Arkansan Bill Clinton was on the ticket in the 1990s.

Presidential

Being cognizant of election history and certain trends can give you an edge. States like Texas and Georgia that have long been Republican strongholds are suddenly looking more viable for Democrats these days thanks to shifting demographics. Using trends to your advantage is one way for you to get an edge on the house as a bettor.

5. There Is Value in Battleground States

The 2020 election will come down to a handful of battleground states that could go either way on Election Night. In 2016, Trump essentially swept these states, which is how he was able to pull off his remarkable upset of Clinton despite losing the popular vote by about three million. His path to the White House was narrow, but he managed to navigate it perfectly.

Odds on which candidate will win these battleground states this year are in flux. The odds tend to align with polls, but that isn’t always the case. In Florida, recent polls give Biden a 2-3 point lead. However, MyBookie has Trump and the Republicans as -160 favorites to take Florida for the second election in a row.

You can get plus-money value on Trump to win certain swing states he won in 2016, including Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Wisconsin. Polling favors Biden in those states, but we saw just four years ago that Trump is fully capable of coming out on top. Knowing where the vulnerabilities in the odds lie is one of the keys to becoming a profitable politics bettor, and identifying value in battleground odds is one way to do just that.
